David Walter Fletcher was born in Victoria, Canada on November 1, 1949.  He's produced and written music for several household names such as; Michael Jackson, Donna Summers, ChicagoEarth Wind and Fire, Celine Dion, Aerosmith, Gwen Stefani, Nsync, and Joey Fatone.

His career in music started in his teens. At 13 he enrolled in a musical program at the University of Washington. At 17 he moved to London with his band Outsiders. 
     In 1970, he moved to Los Angeles with his band Reign. Reign disbanded in 1973. In 1974, Fletcher formed the band Haro along with Alabama born, Lionel King, fellow Canadians Donny Greyson, Flip Daddario, Karl Gravies, Jimmy Patterson and his first wife B.J Corr.

In 1975, Fletcher also played on George Harrison's album Extra Texture.  Haro disbanded in 1978, following Fletcher and Corr's divorce. Fletcher was a major contribution to Chicago's early career. Fletcher began working with Aerosmith through his third wife, Linda Cosby whose half-sister was married to the guitarist Brad Whitford.
    In 1991, Fletcher moved from Los Angeles, California to Venice Florida where he opened Rising Sun Music with Lionel King and his brother-in-law, Daniel Cosby. In 2007, Fletcher became the chairman of Rising Sun when Cosby stepped down. Fletcher stepped down as chairman in 2016.
    In 2006, David Fletcher founded the David Fletcher Foundation after his nephew who was in need of a kidney transplant, died of kidney failure at 11 years old. The David Fletcher Foundation helps children in need of organ donations.
    David Fletcher has been married four times and has six biological kids (5 daughters and 1 son) and nine grandchildren. His first child, Allison, [b. 1970] was born when Fletcher was 20 and was put up for adoption. He reconnected with Allison when she was 30. Fletcher and his first wife B.J Corrs had one daughter, Amy Reign Fletcher, [b. 1973]. Amy is now an a songwriter, writer and english teacher who lives in Boston with her husband and two kids. Fletcher married his second wife, model Rebecca O'Hara, in 1980. They had four kids Sara Fletcher [b. 1983], Erin Fletcher [b. 1985], Brendan Fletcher [b. 1986] and Jordan Fletcher [b.1988]. Fletcher and O'Hara got divorced in 1989. In 1991, Fletcher married Linda Cosby. The two became a songwriting pair and cowrote several songs for Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, and Gwen Stefani. Fletcher adopted Linda Cosby's three kids, daughter Cassandra Jackson and sons Benjamin and Broderick Jackson in 1999. In 2005, Fletcher starred in Benjamin and Broderick's short-lived reality show Princes of Venice. Fletcher and Linda got divorced 2006. Fletcher got married for the fourth time in 2013, to Yolanda Kazmi. Fletcher and Kazmi got divorced in 2017. In 2018, Fletcher got engaged to 35 year old Dublin born, Katherine McGee.
